I am living in a very remote part of Donegal in Ireland and some of the things I am used to using are hard to find. Don’t even get me started on the nearest Starbucks thing. But a few months ago I suggested to a local juice bar that they consider getting Wheatgrass in to sell. Just yesterday I noticed that they actually took my advice and now sell shots of wheatgrass. I used to drink quite a bit of wheatgrass in Hawaii and felt it’s effects over time making me healthier. I am very glad to see that things are changing quickly here in Donegal and even more excited about the fact that they took my advice. Now if I could only find someone willing to bring a Starbucks I would be much happier than I am right now.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo…. STARBUCKS???
Why in god’s name? Might as well ask that Donegal just be converted into a shopping mall altogether…

Are you serious Frank? I think your missing the point. Most towns of donegal are just like shopping malls anyway but only over priced and with no roof over head. With all the shops located in the center of town and very close to each other, what is the difference?
Well I guess you could be right in one sense. Most Irish only drink instant coffee so no one would know the difference between a proper cup of coffee and the pure crap instant stuff they grew up on.
I find it really hard to find a decent vanilla latte no matter where I go and all the shops seem to buy the cheapest beans they can get their hands on so it just don’t taste right. Starbucks does have very high standards for all their coffee. They even have timers on their regular coffee and it gets dumped after 15 minutes. If an Irish coffee shop adhered to similar standards I would be just as happy.
On another note. Just because every shopping mall in America has a Starbucks does not mean that if a place has one they instantly become a shopping mall. There are loads of places that have one and a mall is no where near them. I just want a PROPER latte once in a while that’s all. Is that so wrong?
I grew up in Seattle where Starbucks started and grew up drinking coffee that was brewed at a very high standard where people actually cared about the flavour of coffee. Perhaps my standards are a bit different then most Irish people when it comes to coffee and if one did come here I would probably be the only person willing to pay 4 euro for a proper latte.
Thanks for you comments though. I appreciate you taking the time to post something.
