I Spy…Content Aware Image Resizing
I know what your thinking if your reading this right now “What the heck is Content Aware Image Resizing?” I was thinking same exact thing. In a nutshell without getting too technical it’s basically a new technology on the horizon that will allow for a new way to resize images both quickly and effectively.
I run into this problem nearly every day with both colleagues and clients. They need to resize an image to use on the web and don’t know how to go about doing it. Both the width and height of an image and the actual bandwidth or size of the image. This can be tricky and usually involves some sort of image editing tool like Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Fireworks. A few sites have popped up that allow you to do this without the huge purchase and install of an Adobe Product (www.picnik.com, www.snipshot.com, www.pixenate.com) but deciding which part of a photo to crop out can also still be tricky. All this could be a thing of the past.
I recommend you watch the video after the link below and see for yourself. He explains this pretty well so you can totally understand just how cool this is and how great it will be once it becomes available.
I found a link to a massive PDF but it does not see to be downloading. You may have more luck than I am having. If can finish the download I will place a copy in this server so you can access it faster.

So in addition to being able to edit, crop or modify our images online for free we can also resize them without cropping or distortion. If you’d like to see a demo you can refer to another link with a video overview of the technology (Content Aware Image Resizing). [...]
