I Spy…Tiny Wind-up Keychain Lights

July 15th, 2008 No Comments »

These tiny little wind-up lights look pretty neat. I know batteries are good and in these LED lights they last forever but what if that little battery goes dead? I know I don’t keep the little ones on hand. I have a drawer full of A’ AA’ and even D’ batteries but I don’t have any of the little tiny flat ones. This is why I think this little tiny crank light would be handy to have. Plus at only $8 a pop and a bunch of colors to choose from you can’t go wrong really.

Features:

  • Mini Dynamo Keychain 2-LED Flashlight
  • Brightness LEDs

Dimension:

  • 4 x 3 x 1.3 cm

Package Included:

  • 1 piece Mini Dynamo Keychain 2-LED Flashlight

I Spy…The Interactive Ripple Ball Sink Concept

March 1st, 2008 No Comments »

The great folks over at the Techeblog have posted a great article about a potential new sink that is truly inspiring and amazing. As you can see from the images the design is beautiful but it also takes interactivity and controlling the sink to a whole new world. To control the water flow and temperature you use a metal ball that is tracked by electromagnets. It also has LED lights in both red and blue to light up the sink and water depending on whether you choose cold or hot water.

I would love a sink like this in my house but I know my kids would lose the damn ball within minutes. Plus I think this is just a concept at the moment.

I Spy…Proximity Based Couple Shirts

geek heart shirts

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner love is in the air. I can only see snow in the air right now here but you know what I mean. This set of t-shirts actually detects each other and the closer the shirts in proximity the more hearts light up on the shirt. You can see from the images just how it works but basically you wear one shirt and give the other to someone you love and the closer you are to each other the more hearts light up. I don’t think I could get my wife to wear one of these if I paid her but I still like the idea.

Of course you need two shirts and a transmitter pack in order use them and the total package for 2 shirts and a the transmitter pack will cost $62 ($25 per shirt plus $12 for transmitter pack) and this does not include the shipping.

I also found a really cheesy video that shows how the shirts might work at a party.

I Spy…Instant Blossom by Ki Seung Lee

instant flowers

Now this looks very interesting. You spray water on these flowers and within a few minutes you have a simulated bouquet of flowers. It looks as though you could send it as a card or even keep a few handy and when you get close to the person your giving the pseudo-flowers to you just pull them out and give them a spray. I Spy…The Wovel?

Well we had our first snow here in Donegal just a few days ago and it has me thinking about my years in Washington State as a kid. During winter the snow would get deep and last for a few weeks, not like here were it’s a dust of snow then gone the same day.

I am surprised this sort of invention didn’t exist sooner. It seems like the a great idea for a snow shovel. Basically it’s a snow shovel with a wheel. Hence the name “Wovel”. Snow is heavy and when it comes to shoveling the stuff, you can hurt your back pretty quickly if your not careful. This design really leverages your weight with the snow thanks to the over sized wheel. You pretty much have to see the video to understand how it works though. At least I did.

You can have it all for only $119.95.

I have a video posted after the jump.

I Spy…Colour Lovers and COPASO

Finding the right color or colour depending on where your from, used to be a daunting task but not anymore. This is probably the 3rd tool I have seen the last few months that was built to help you pick the palette. COPASO is very easy to use and allows you to easily save your palettes for use in the future. One thing I really love about COPASO, aside from it’s ease of use, is the fact that you can share your palette with the world.

If your stuck and need to find palette or perhaps you want to share your own palettes with the world, I suggest you visit COPASO and give it a whirl.

Human Touch Chairs

Now that the holidays are over and everyone has been back at work for a couple weeks we all start feeling the aches and pains of winter. Unless you live in Hawaii or some place warm, you lucky lucky people. Either way I think we could all use something like the Human Touch Massage Chairs. I would probably work so much more and be so much happier if I had one of these chairs at work. Either that or I would be asleep all the time because an overdose of relaxation, either way I’d be a lot happier that’s for sure.

Here is what they have to say about their chairs and from just reading it my back is starting to ache and my body is craving one of these awesome chairs.

I Spy…Favikon.com

favikon

Have you ever tried to make a favicon? Do you even know what a favicon is? Well in most modern browsers web developers can add what’s called a favicon to their website that will display an icon whenever someone adds it to their favorites or bookmarks. You may see my little face in the top near the “http://”, this is my favicon for this site. It’s not a big deal but when someone is going through their bookmarks it can set your link apart.

They can be tricky to make since some browsers will read them differently but not anymore. I found a wonderful little ajax site that does exactly what it says on the tin. In three steps you have your very own favicon.

I Spy…Sound Snap

sound snap

If you’ve ever tried to find a sound sample to use in a podcast, ring tone or maybe to rework all the default sounds used by your computer, you may have noticed it’s not that easy to do. With all the different formats out there from WAV to MIDI to ACC and now MP3 it can be very confusing. In walks Sound Snap. The site is full of sound files submitted by their users and free to use on whatever you like. The sound files are easy to find and listen to before you actually download anything and once you do decide to download the sound you can choose from MP3, WAV and sometimes AIFF. Best part is they are all free.

I Spy…Pimp Star LED Wheels

January 8th, 2008 No Comments »

This is about the weirdest and yet strangely the coolest thing I have seen in a while. You pretty much have to watch the video to get the full impact. Basically it’s rims that come in all sizes that allow you to add your own image or message that will display while you drive. What will they think of next?

The cost is nearly $12,000 but if I had the money I would probably buy a pair just so I can watch other people crashing all around me as they freak out.
