I Spy…Fritz the Photo Taking Feline

fritz the photo taking feline

Have you ever wondered what your pet got up to when they go out and about? Even better than knowing is seeing and that’s exactly what this person from Germany wanted to know. They hooked up a digital camera to their cat Fritz and programmed it to take a photo every 15 seconds.

I have a link to his site where you can see all his images and even placed a few of my favorites in a mini slide show for you to see. They also have a video which compares the shot he took to where he was or how he took the shot. I find all this very fascinating.

Money Celebrities

What do you get when you cross Google Images, Money and way too much spare time? You might get the following photos of half celebrity and half money. These are very interesting and almost scary. I did laugh when I seen the “Dr. Evil Money”.

I think these have ruined some money for me as well. I know I will never be able to look at George Washington in the same way again.

I Spy…Lewis Lavoie’s Mosaics

Lewis Lavoie Mosaic Mural

We love our mosaics here at the ispy site. We featured a site before called Mosaickr which makes creating a mosaic from your photos very easy. In fact I even bought a few a I made and had them framed. I love looking at them and so do my my kids.

Lewis Lavoie take the mosaic to a whole new level. Not only are these wonderful mosaics but they are also done as murals. Each one is created by hand and they look just amazing. You’ll have to visit his site to see the full collection but I have a few of my favorites sampled below. You can click on them for a larger image.

I Spy…Photos by Bobby Neel Adams

Bobby Neel Adams

These photos by Bobby Neel Adams are amazing. He has a few sets that feature photos of the same person both young and old. He has used no Photoshop and actually rips and tares them by hand and scans them in. It sure makes for some interesting photos that’s for sure.

You should really check out the couples section as well. He take a couple and merges them together and the results are almost disturbing but totally intriguing.

Matt Stuart Photography

I love photography that has subtle yet significant connections in them. Things you might miss if you didn’t pay attention to the details of each shot. Matt Stuart has captured the true essence of this in all his photography.

I can’t tell if these are totally random or whether he has actually staged them. They are taken in London after all and you can see anything in London if you just walk around enough and keep your eyes open. Either way, I think he does a great job of capturing an intriguing shot each time.

Below are some of my favourites. Please visit his site if you’d like to see more.

I Spy…Sleevefaces

sleeveface

I learned a new word today, sort of. A Sleeveface is someone who uses an album cover and their body together to create the illusion of something else.

I have added some of my favorites so far below which you can click on to enlarge. If I actually owned some albums I might try this, it looks fun. Somehow I don’t think it will work so well with a cd case. I looked to see if perhaps this was a phenomenon I had somehow missed out on but I can’t find very many. In fact I can only find one image at Flickr when searching for “sleeveface”.

UPDATE: I was looking for the wrong thing at Flickr. It turns out they are also called LP Portraits. You can see loads more at the photo pool below:

I Spy…Flickr Tilt Viewer

tilt viewer

This 3D tilt viewer is another addition of how Flickr can be pulled into other applications. It’s fun to play with and such nice eye candy. I could easily spend hours just clicking the refresh button. I only wish I could search for key words or tags.

You can flip the images over to find out more details and even view the image at Flickr.

I Spy…Image Resizing Done Right.

We have covered this technology before but only with a preview of what is to come. Now this company is letting us try it out online for free. So in addition to being able to edit, crop or modify our images online for free we can also resize them without cropping or distortion. If you’d like to see a demo you can refer to another link with a video overview of the technology (Content Aware Image Resizing).

I have tried it out on both small and large images and it works pretty well. If you push the limits too much by using very busy images or even resize to extreme dimensions you get mixed results but that’s to be expected.

I Spy…A Million Little Pictures

a million little pictures

A Million Little Pictures is offering everyone the chance to contribute to their new project which involves collecting a million little pictures and then showcasing them in a town that has yet to be decided.

Basically, you send them $16 and they send you back a disposable camera. You then take your shots with the camera, anything in the category or theme of “adventures” and then send the camera back to them. The photos will then be included in the exhibit. If that was not enough, they are also going to pick the town to hold the exhibition in based on the number of people who participate from that town or city.

I am really curious how this will work out, not only the photos that will be taken but also which town or city will win.

Check back here for more information or just visit their funky site:

I Spy…Funny and Geeky Bumper Stickers

geek stickers

Bumper stickers must be an American thing because I really don’t see many here in Ireland. Americans must not care how silly they look to the other drivers or maybe they think if they can give the guy behind them a laugh then maybe he won’t shoot them as enters a state of road rage.

A couple of these people have to be real geeks in order to actually put these on their cars. Just like they say “The geek shall inherit the earth” or at least I think that’s how that one goes.
