I know a lot of people were excited about the subway, huge sandwiches, huge choice of breads, lots of toppings, cheap prices. But, they just seem like a mediocre bland place to get food (or at least the one in the US are I've never the one's in Eire). I'm actually surprised that it closed, I would have thought that during a recession that would have cleaned up and driven the locals out of business. Why don't you just do the 1/2 sandwich and soup at the Blueberry instead? It's a decent price and the soup is made fresh (not from a packet) and at least what you pay is supporting a local business instead of some international corporation who just takes the profits home. Actually, I can't wait till I get home again to eat at the Blueberry! :) I hear the subway closed at the end of 2009.
